At EDUC Mortgages, we were honoured to support the INTO Equality Conference 2026, held in the Tullamore Court Hotel on 23rd and 24th January.

As an endorsed service provider to the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO), it was a privilege to be part of an event that brought teachers together to reflect on inclusion, representation, and the future of the profession.

A timely and important theme

This year’s conference theme, “Diversity in Schools: From Classroom to Staffroom”, focused on a message that feels more relevant than ever – that diversity should not only be present in classrooms, but should also be reflected in the teaching profession itself.

Over the course of the weekend, delegates explored the barriers that can prevent under-represented groups from entering and thriving in teaching, while also highlighting the importance of building a profession that reflects the communities it serves.

It was a thought-provoking and meaningful programme, encouraging open discussion and shared learning across schools, counties and backgrounds.

Insightful speakers and powerful conversations

The conference featured a wide range of keynote speakers and sessions, each bringing valuable perspectives to the theme of equality in education.

Delegates heard from Professor Elaine Keane of the University of Galway, who explored the wider context around teacher diversity, as well as Dr Hannagh McGinley of Mary Immaculate College, who delivered a powerful keynote based on lived experience and education.

The programme also included a keynote address from Sinéad Burke, accessibility advocate and founder of Tilting the Lens, who spoke on the importance of accessibility not just in classrooms, but across wider society.

Alongside the keynote sessions, attendees participated in workshops covering a range of important topics, including anti-bias education, inclusive classroom resources, supporting plurilingual learners, neuro-affirmative practices, and creating more inclusive school environments.

Supporting INTO members beyond the classroom

At EDUC Mortgages, we understand that teachers support their communities in countless ways – often going above and beyond in their work every day. Supporting an event focused on equality and inclusion within the profession felt like a natural extension of our relationship with INTO and its members.

We were delighted to contribute to the conference in a small way, and to support the opportunity for members to come together, share experiences, and return to their schools inspired and informed.

A weekend of connection

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to stop by, say hello, and chat with our team over the weekend. It was a pleasure to meet so many INTO members in person and to hear about the work happening in schools across Ireland.

Congratulations also to our prize draw winners – we hope you enjoy your prizes!

Finally, we would like to thank INTO, the Equality Committee, and all organisers involved for hosting such a well-run and impactful event. We look forward to continuing our work with the INTO and its members in the future.
